“Top Democrats” are telling Axios they believe that New York socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will challenge one of her state’s Democratic Senators–Chuck Schumer in 2022, or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in 2024.
Ocasio-Cortez’s spokesman Corbin Trent said of the claims, “Having worked on her campaign, I don’t think we’re going to be moving to a different role any time soon.”
The news of a possible run comes on the heels of a disturbing new poll showing American women actually prefer socialism to capitalism.
A Harris poll for “Axios on HBO” found that 55% of women between the ages of 18 and 54 say they would prefer to live in a socialist nation over a capitalist nation.
The poll found that four in 10 Americans said they would prefer socialism over capitalism.
