During an interview with Joe Biden on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront, Biden was surprisingly confronted by the reality that the polling currently shows voters trust Donald Trump more than him.
Burnett asked; “When you talk about the economy, of course it is by far the most important issue for voters. It's also true right now, Mr. President, that voters by a wide margin, trust Trump more on the economy. They say that in polls and part of the reason for that may be the numbers and you're aware of many of these, of course, the cost of buying a home in the United States is double what it was when you look at your monthly costs from before the pandemic, real income, when you account for inflation is actually down since you took office, economic growth last week, far short of expectations, consumer confidence, maybe no surprise, is near a two-year low. With less than six months to go to election day are you worried that you're running out of time to turn that around?”
Biden replied, with a straight face, that he already had "turned [the economy] around," implying that it’s apparently the voters’ fault for just not realizing how great things supposedly are.

Trump leads Biden in every swing state except one, according to polling data from the Wall Street Journal last month.Trump is holding leads of between 2 and 8 percentage points in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina in a hypothetical matchup with third-party and independent candidates. Trump’s leads are similar when it’s only him against Biden. The one exception is Wisconsin, where Biden leads by 3 points on the multiple-candidate ballot, but is tied in a head-to-head matchup.
