In his latest slip up, Joe Biden declared that Vladimir Putin is on the verge of losing the war “in Iraq.”
“It's hard to tell but he's [Putin’s] clearly losing the war in Iraq,” Biden told reporters in the wake of the Wagner Group’s short-lived “mutiny” over the weekend. "He's losing the war at home, and he has become a bit of a pariah around the world.”

Amusingly, the media has been attempting to just pretend the gaffe didn’t happen in their coverage instead of reporting on Biden misspeaking. USA Today just ignored the “Iraq” quote entirely in reporting on Biden’s comments, leading to Twitter’s community notes feature calling them out for misleading readers.
