In an attempt to further create chaos at the southern border, Joe Bidenās administration has been selling off unfinished parts of the border to thwart Republican efforts at resuming construction.
According to the New York Post:
The Biden administration is quietly auctioning off millions of dollarsā worth of unused parts from former President Trumpās border wall for peanuts ā in an apparent end-run around pending legislation in Congress.
Since April, GovPlanet, an online auction house specializing in military surplus, has sold 81 lots of steel āsquare structural tubesā ā intended for use as vertical bollards in the border barrierās 30-foot-tall panels ā hauling in about $2 million.
On Tuesday, GovPlanet netted $154,200 for 729 of the 28-foot-tall hollow beams, sold in five separate lots for an average $212 apiece.
Thirteen more lots are set to be auctioned on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30.
Biden halted construction on the border wall the day he took office, calling it a "waste of money that diverts attention from genuine threats to our homeland security,ā and a historic crisis at the border has followed ever since.
But Biden canāt claim money is an issue, as halting construction has costs of its own. Last year Bidenās former Border Security Chief Rodney Scott told Special Report that the U.S. was paying $5 million per day to *not* build the border wall; āHe [Biden] clearly understands and knows how to control the border and what needs to take placeā¦ For a while, it was almost five million a day between DoD and DHS to not build the border wall.ā That same year, Democrats sought nearly $1 billion for border security in the Middle East.
Furthermore, aid sent to Ukraine in their war against Russia thus far couldāve completed construction of the wall two times over.
