Boy Scouts of America announced Tuesday that beginning in 2025 it will formally be renamed “Scouting America” in order to be more “inclusive.” For several years now, the Boy Scouts of America has included girls. In 2018, the organization began admitting 7 to 10-year-old females, and in 2019, it began admitting 11 to 17-year-old females.
As The Daily Wire reports: “BSA President and CEO Roger A. Krone said the name change was made in part to encourage girls to join the program since it will no longer have the name ‘boy’ in it.”
“While this may be a surprise to some of you,” Krone said in a press release, “for us this is a straightforward evolution and the next natural step in ensuring all American youth feel welcomed and recognized in an organization that is meant to serve all Americans.”
During an interview, Krone admitted that membership is at a “historic low,” yet he believes leaning into woke gender politics will somehow help. “Part of my job is to reduce all the barriers I possibly can for people to accept us as an organization and to join," said Krone

Why not instead focus on things that boys like to do? 🤡

In response, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on X, “[As] an Eagle Scout, I can say definitively: The Boy Scouts have absolutely collapsed over the past 15 years of 'emphasizing inclusion.' Membership is in the toilet. The churches, organizations, and families who were once the bedrock of Scouting have abandoned it in droves. Something tells me changing their name won’t help."
“The left never wanted to improve scouting,” Kirk continued. “They saw an organization outside their control, something people cared about, and so they infiltrated it, corrupted it, and ruined it. What a shame.”
Meanwhile, cultural commentator Peachy Keenan believes that there’s an opportunity for someone to replace the Boy Scouts with “Based Scouts.” Keenan suggests that the “Based Scouts” be “only boys,” "Christian,” and a “return to the European tradition of scouting” with an emphasis on “nature, survival, fellowship, [and] character.”
“The person who starts this organization--and they will--will be a historic figure and make a lot of money,” she adds.
