The hysteria is heating up along with the 2024 presidential race, and the prospect of another Donald Trump presidency is already driving some on MSNBC to the brink of insanity.
While appearing on that very network, opportunist Steve Schmidtm formally of the disgraced sex-scandal-plagued Lincoln Project, managed to argue that Trump is so evil that even his promises to save the country in six months are actually secretly hidden Nazi messages.
“Since FDR’s time in office the legislative metric in the United States has been 100 days, not six months. This is a racist code whistle to every white supremacist in the country because it’s how long it took Adolf Hitler to take Weimar Germany to a complete and total dictatorship,” Schmidt told host Joy Reid, with a completely straight face. Of course, if there really was a risk of Trump turning the country into a dictatorship, it’s a bit odd that Schmidt has never wondered to himself why Trump didn’t just do that when he was in office the first time.
Schmidt continued, as Reid watched on without objection; “That included, by the way, the military swearing an oath of allegiance not to the nation, but to the fuhrer. And the military was the institution amongst many in Germany that were the last holdouts to this. But once he was in power, they were the first to submit. And what Donald Trump is signaling to the officer corps of the American military, ‘You get in line behind me, the leader, not the idea, not the Constitution, or I’m coming for you, too.’”
You can watch the exchange below - though you may lose a few brain cells in the process:
Oddly, Schmidt has yet to comment on the Nazi recently praised in Canadian parliament. Once again, the left manages to see Nazis everywhere except where they exist.
