Once again, Senator John Kennedy was able to destroy the credibility of a liberal witness by asking them extremely simple questions.
23-year-old Olympic skier Gus Schumacher was introduced as an expert witness during a senate hearing on climate change, but couldn’t even answer basic questions from Sen. Kennedy about what carbon dioxide is, or how much he thought we needed to reduce carbon emissions by. Kennedy then brought up some of Schumacher’s past tweets claiming the war on drugs was created to jail black people and calling for the abolition of police - and it only got more awkward from there.
