The corrupt, George Soros-backed Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is looking to Donald Trump in contempt of court.
According to the Post Millennial:
Braggâs office has filed a formal request to hold Trump in contempt over three social media posts.
Prosecutors said during Mondayâs hearing that three of Trumpâs social media posts from this month "plainly violate" Judge Juan Merchanâs gag order, claiming they target witnesses who will be testifying at the trial, according to ABC News.
The prosecutors wrote in the filing, "And defendant's violations were knowing and willful -- indeed, they are the latest in what this Court has already recognized as a deliberate strategy to impede this criminal trial. To be sure, defendant has loudly and repeatedly complained that the order is unlawful, in both court filings and other public statements. But no court has agreed with his objections, and a defendant's mere disagreement with a court's order is no defense to criminal contempt."
Trumpâs attorneys have insisted that he was responding to "repeated, salacious, demon attacks" by porn star Stormy Daniels and former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.
A hearing on the matter has been scheduled for next Tuesday. Trump could be fined $1,000 for each violation of the gag order.
Earlier this year, the so-called âfact-checkersâ rallied to the defense of Bragg to deny that heâd been funded by George Soros. As I wrote previously; The Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler claimed itâs false that Soros funded Bragg - but an anti-police group called the Color of Change PAC announced in May 2021 that they wanted to back Braggâs candidacy for DA with $1 million. Days later, Soros cut Color of Change a check for $1 million.
Anyone can see exactly what happened here â yet the fact-checkers were more than happy to further demolish their credibility in arguing the contrary with pure semantics. The fact-checkerâs case that Soros didnât fund Bragg amounts to nothing more than âSoros didnât fund him â the PAC did!â
Meanwhile, at PolitiFact, fact-checker Amy Sherman absurdly argued that because Sorosâ contribution to the PAC wasnât earmarked, then the âcontributor and the candidate have no connection.â Speaking of connections: Soros has donated $300,000 to the International Fact-Checking Network, which is owned by the Poynter Institute, of which PolitiFact is a subsidiary. What a coincidence.
