Debate prep hasn’t been going well for Kamala Harris, who has never been known for her speaking (and thinking) abilities.
Fox’s Jesse Watters explained “Day one of debate camp for Kamala and the camp counselors are tormenting her. For the last five days and nights, Harris will be locked down in a cabin in Pittsburgh. Insiders say her prep will be akin to Biden's week-long session at Camp David, full-out in mock debates. But they'll start earlier than Biden's, and there will be fewer naps. She'll have no breaks. Harris has to hold it. Back to back, 90-minute mock sessions with no interruption. The Clintons are telling her what to say.”
He explained that Harris wants to talk through all her policies with her handlers, who instead handed her a briefing binder and reminded her that they’re not going to spend hours telling her what her own policies are. “We're hearing that Harris has been poring over briefing binders for two months because she's just learning for the first time what her policies are. And now insiders say she's careening sideways.”

The Harris campaign has been bickering over whether or not mics will be muted during her debate with Trump. Team Biden demanded muted mics for his disastrous debate with Trump - which they apparently thought would be a good idea. Since that backfired, the swamp is now adamant for the opposite policy, knowing that Harris has no chance of winning the debate on substance, but could generate headlines for some snarky one-liner about how she’s “speaking.”
On Wednesday, ABC released official rules for the debate next Tuesday, which include having mics muted. The Harris campaign attempted to push back on this rule to bait Trump out of “backing out” of the original terms of the debate, and the Harris campaign refused to sign off on the rules last week in an unsuccessful attempt to renegotiate.
It wasn’t until they received assurates from ABC that “if there is significant cross talk between Harris and Trump, the network may choose to turn on the mics so that the public can understand what is happening,” according to CNN.
Harris has yet to conduct a formal press conference since emerging as the Democrat nominee.
