The highest paid judge in Douglas County, Democrat Judge Christina Peterson, has been removed from office following a video showing her being arrested last week at a nightclub after allegedly assaulting a police officer. And yet, that was the least of her worries.
The Judicial Qualifications Commission said that Peterson âexhibited a pattern of judicial misconduct while in office,â and ordered âthat [Judge Peterson] be removed from office⌠As a result, Judge Peterson âshall not be eligible to be elected or appointed to any judicial office in this state until seven years have elapsedâ from the date of this opinion.â
According to the New York Post; The embattled judge, who was elected and sworn into office in December 2020, was at one point facing a whopping 50 counts of alleged misconduct â the first of which was filed less than a year into her four-year term. Of those, 20 were dismissed, while a hearing panel investigated the other 30.â The panel found her guilty of 28 of the 30 counts.
Peterson was charged with simple battery against a police officer and obstruction of a law enforcement officer over the weekend after video (below) showed her allegedly shoving an off-duty cop outside a Red Martini Restaurant and Lounge. Surprisingly, this incident wasnât considered in removing her from the bench as it wasnât part of the ongoing investigation into her other scandals.
Watch below:
Will she take a page out of the Democrat playbook and blame a vast right-wing conspiracy for her own actions? Weâll have to wait to find out.
