Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is in complete denial over reports that 400 illegals have been brought to the U.S. through an ISIS-linked smuggling network.
NBC had reported earlier in the week that the DHS had āidentified over 400 immigrants from Central Asia and elsewhere who crossed into the U.S. in the past three years as 'subjects of concern' because they were brought by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network.ā Three DHS officials told NBC this.
Instead of trying to spin this, Mayorkas has opted for outright denial.
āThat reporting is incorrect,ā Mayorkas claimed to reporters. āWe have not identified 400 people with potential ISIS ties.ā The DHS officials who spoke with NBC said that 150 of the 400 have been arrested, and there are 50 who still havenāt been arrested.
āAnd lemme, again, assure you, that individuals who are identified to have those ties would pose a concern to us from a public safetyā¦ security perspective, and they would be priorities for detention and removal,ā Mayorkas continued.
Watch below:
Mayorkas seems to be trying to exonerate the DHS via wordplay; NBC is reporting on illegals smuggled through an ISIS-linked network, while Mayorkas is claiming thereās no evidence of 400 ISIS-linked illegals crossing the border. It would be like Mayorkas trying to debunk the existence of the major problem of cartel human trafficking by arguing that those people trafficked arenāt cartel members themselves. Of course, in the case of those smuggled by ISIS, it would be inconceivable that many donāt align ideologically with the terror group.
Mayorkas has also denied the role the border crisis played in the recent murder of a 12-year-old girl in Texas, stating that āThe individual who is responsible for a heinous criminal act is the criminal.ā Oddly, heād never apply this logic to guns.
