Joe Biden went all-in on making “Bidenomics” the center of his 2024 presidential campaign - but even Democrats aren’t sold.

A new poll conducted for the Financial Times has some sobering figures for Biden - that only 14% of voters say Joe Biden has made them better off, and the figures aren’t much better among his base.

According to FT

Only 14 percent of US voters believe they are better off financially now than when Biden took office, according to a new poll for the Financial Times, in the latest sign that the president’s economic record could undermine his re-election chances.

The survey was conducted by the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and found that almost 70 per cent of voters thought Biden’s economic policies had either hurt the US economy or had no impact, including 33 per cent who said they believed the president’s policies had “hurt the economy a lot.” Only 26 per cent said his policies had helped.

Meanwhile, only 24% of Democrats say they’re better off financially under Biden, with 18% saying they’re “somewhat” better off, and 6% “much better off.”

There’s clearly a partisan divide here in that only 6% of Republicans say they’re better off financially - but 6% is closer to 14% than 24%, implying that many Democrats may be either exaggerating whether they really feel better off, or that a fraction of the Biden base is the only group his policies are working for.
