Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is following the lead of his fellow pro-sanctuary city leaders NYC Mayor Eric Adams and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson in complaining about having to deal with the consequences of illegal immigration.
While appearing with Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week,” Karl said “There’s clearly a problem at the border. I know you have advocated for stronger action from the federal government on dealing with this crisis. How does the president address this going forward?”
Pritzker replied by vaguely calling for “comprehensive immigration reform,” which means embracing the left’s entire agenda on immigration, and hilariously claiming that the border crisis was only occurring thanks to Republicans. “Here in Illinois, it’s minus 29 degrees outside with the wind chill. We have migrants that arrive from Texas virtually every day, hundreds, and we don’t have places to put them. We don’t have enough shelter space here,” Pritzker said.
Prizker went on to complain that Democrat leaders are being held to their claimed ideals; “There are plenty of other cities where, you know, if he’s going to send people, they could be sent, but no - He’s choosing only Democratic states, Democratic cities.” He then tried to pretend that he's not a hypocrite - he's just worried about illegal aliens having to deal with harsh weather. "And when we’ve asked him to stop sending people because of the weather, because the dangerous nature of this winter storm that we’re experiencing now, he’s refused to stop sending them. So, he does not care about people. He doesn’t care about the, the migrants, he doesn’t care about the fact that they’re going to suffer if they’re sent to certainly the Upper Midwest, as he is doing now.”

This came as new figures revealed that Chicago had nearly 4,500 more recently-arrived “asylum seekers” than previously thought, bringing the official total above 34,500.
