Things got awkward on CNN when Kaitlan Collins asked former Attorney General Bill Barr if he had ever cooperated with Special Counsel Jack Smith, who had just indicted Trump on January 6 related charges.

Collins asked “You spoke to the January 6 congressional committee. Have you talked to Jack Smith’s investigators?”

“I’m not going to get into that” replied Barr, before an awkward pause ensued as the two stared at each other.

“I’m not going to get into that,” he repeated before Collins nervously laughed and moved on to the next question.

Watch below:

The response speaks for itself, as if Barr hadn't, it's likely he would've made that clear.

Elsewhere in the interview, Barr argued that Smith’s case is legitimate, telling Collins “They’re not attacking his First Amendment right. He can say whatever he wants, but that does not protect you from entering into a conspiracy. All conspiracies involve speech, and all fraud involves speech.” In a later interview with CBS, he said that he would consider appearing as a witness in the Trump indictment.
