Karine Jean-Pierre once again deployed her trademark strategy of simply refusing to answer questions when pressed - a major departure from her predecessor, who at least promised to “circle back.”
Peter Doocy questioned Jean-Pierre over recent data showing that over 7,500 illegals crossed the border last Sunday alone, and that the number has risen to over 10,000 per day this week. "So, what do you call it here at the White House when 10,000 people illegally cross the border in a single day?" Doocy asked.
"So, what do you call it, Peter, when the GOP put forth a – wait, no, no, no you can't," Jean-Pierre said, as Doocy cut in “you’re answering my question with a question.”
"I'm answering…” Jean-Pierre began to say, before realizing she’d lose any argument she tried to start. “OK, we're going to move on."
"Karine, please," Doocy replied.
"No, no, no, we're moving on," she repeated before selecting a different reporter. "Peter, I tried to answer the question, and you stopped me.”
