CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale, who is widely regarded as a hack biased in favor of the left by many (including myself) due to how rarely he fact-checked Joe Biden and other Democrats, excoriated Kamala Harris’ lies after her trainwreck CNN town hall.
CNN has become increasingly critical of Harris in recent weeks (by liberal media standards), likely because they can read the writing on the wall and don’t want to look as clueless as they did in 2016. CNN’s data reporter Harry Entin has been making headlines on a weekly basis for his analysis showing a favorable race for Trump.
Specifically, Dale criticized Harris over fracking flip flop lies, Trump’s border wall, and the Trump tax cuts.

Dale didn’t tackle this one, but one major lie that stood out during the town hall was Harris claiming that illegal border crossings were lower today than they were Trump’s last year in office. There were roughly 400,000 southwest border encounters in fiscal year 2020 - compared to 1.7 million in 2021, 2.4 million in 2022, 2.5 million in 2023, and 2.1 million in 2024. In every consecutive year under the Biden-Harris admin except the most recent fiscal year (which ended last month), we’ve seen more illegal border crossing in history.
