White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was once again flustered by a real question during a briefing.
Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about a recent instance where Biden recalled a supposedly recent meeting [at the G7] with French president François Mitterrand, who left office in 1995 and died in 1996.
Doocy: And how is President Biden ever going to convince the three quarters of voters who are worried about his physical and mental health that he is okay even though in Las Vegas he told a story about recently talking to a French president who died in 1996?
Jean-Pierre; I’m not even gonna go down that rabbit hole with you, sir,” she responded.
Doocy: What is the rabbit hole? He said he talked to Mitterrand and–”
Jean-Pierre: You saw the president in Vegas, in California. You’ve seen the President in South Carolina. You saw him in Michigan. I’ll just leave it there.
While she could’ve tried to play it off as Biden misspeaking about French President Emmanuel Manuel (which the official White House transcript of the comment claims), Jean-Pierre’s non-answer leaves some doubt that actually was the case. Just yesterday Biden retold the same story about the G7, and this time claimed to have spoken with German Chancellor Helmut Kohl - who died in 2017.
Watch below:
A study earlier this year from the Media Research Center’s Newsbusters found that Jean-Pierre completely refused to answer 98% of questions about Biden’s scandals last year.
