Amber Duke (formerly Amber Athey) effortlessly shut up her insufferable (former) co-host Nomiki Konst on the show “The Rising.”
The two were discussing Ryan Girdusky’s hilarious comment on CNN to Mehdi Hasan, who had just accused Trump supporters of being Nazis. After Hasan said he’s often called an anti-semite because he’s Palestinian, Girdusky delivered the kill shot; “I hope your beeper doesn't go off” (referring to the recent Israeli attack on Hezbollah). Hasan pretended this joke was a death threat, the segment went off the rails, and Girdusky ended up being kicked off the show for daring stand up to Hasan.
On The Rising, Konst tried to justify Hasan’s comments, claiming that there was Nazi rhetoric at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally - something millions of us that watched it somehow missed.
Konst brought up Tucker Carlson discussing “racial replacement theory” as an example. “Do you stand by those?” she asked Duke.
“Yes.”
“You stand by every single comment at MSG?”
Then Duke schooled her; “I stand by Tucker Carlson’s comments because I found it interesting yesterday you said Puerto Rico was being colonized by Americans who are tax cheats, who are going there and ruining the culture and driving up the cost of housing, but when Tucker Carlson says it about mainland American and illegal aliens, all of a sudden this is about ‘great replacement’ and ‘white supremacy.’”
You can see the exact moment Konst malfunctions in response:
