Mark Cuban, who became a household name from the hit business show Shark Tank, is âoutâ on critical thinking.
While appearing on CNBC, Cuban argued, with a completely straight face, that our eyes and ears be damned; the mainstream media is actually conservative!
Why? Because people watch Fox News.
And thatâs it. Thatâs really his entire argument.
CNBC host Joe Kernen referenced a report by the Media Research Center that found ABC News has run 100% positive coverage of Kamala Harris and 93% negative coverage of Donald Trump, to which Cuban replied âFirst, whatâs the most watched news channel? Who are the most watched and viewed and listened to podcasts?â
After Kernen said Fox, Cuban said, bizarrely thinking that he was making a point; âI mean, itâs not close. The number one shows are all Fox, the number one podcasts lean right⌠The mainstream media is not who you think it is. The mainstream media truly leans right.â
âMaybe thatâs why itâs [the presidential race] only tied then,â Kernen snarked.
While it is true that Fox is the biggest mainstream news network, thatâs because itâs the only major right wing network (ahead of Newsmax). Thus, the liberal share of TV is split across numerous networks, while the right-wing share is concentrated in one.
Recent polling on the party affiliation of U.S. journalists revealed that fewer than 5% of journalists identify as Republicans.
Kernan had another amusing quip while discussing the Biden economy with Cuban, and whether or not Harris âownsâ his record (like Biden says he does).
âWe can look at exactly what happened,â Kernan said. "[Trump has] already been president. And we can look at what happened when [Harris] was vice president, and it's not good, the comparison."
"Being the president, Joe, as you know, is different than being vice president. It's notâ" Cuban tried to interject, as Kernen fired back "So she can take credit for the good things that happened with Biden, but she didn't have anything to do with the bad things?"
