Any time Joe Biden is in the public eye he seems to have a knack for sticking his foot in his mouth and has been deemed ‘the gaffe machine.’ It’s one thing to not know the correct number for your campaign, and ok, arguably it can be a little confusing to remember which city you are in when you are traveling across the country to multiple cities a day in a heated presidential primary race.
However, Biden has been telling stories that walk the line of unethical. Earlier this month on the campaign trail Biden told the heartfelt experience he had meeting with the victims of the mass shooting in Parkland Florida at the White House when he was Vice President. “Those kids in Parkland came up to see me when I was Vice President” Biden recalled. He told the story multiple times. Except that story never happened. The Parkland, Florida shooting occurred at a high school in February of 2018, over a year after he had left office.
If children who were victims of a horrific mass shooting wasn’t enough of a good story, Biden has also brought in his “experiences” with military war heroes. Except again, the story did not happen. As the CT Post reports:
Almost every detail in the story appears to be incorrect. Based on interview with more than a dozen U.S. troops, their commanders and Biden campaign officials, it appears as though the former Vice President has jumbled elements of at least three actual events into one story of bravery, compassion and regret that never happened.
