In news that you know pains them to report, the latest NBC poll has Donald Trump defeating Joe Biden in a 2024 matchup for the first time in their poll’s history. During an episode of "Meet the Press," Kristen Welker, joined by correspondent Steve Kornacki, delved into the latest polling data, revealing that Trump now leads Biden by 2 points, leading Biden 46-42 in a hypothetical matchup.
"This is the first time in the history of our poll that former President Trump beats President Biden – still within the margin of error, but still significant," Welker narrated.
The poll, conducted from Nov. 10 to Nov. 14 among 1,000 registered voters, has a margin of error of about 5.5 percentage points.
Kornacki highlighted the shift by noting that during Trump's presidency in 2019 and 2020, Biden consistently trailed in the polls. However, this year marks a departure from that trend, with Trump leading for the first time in more than a dozen polls.
Trump leads Biden in every poll included in the Real Clear Politics average, with the exception of Rasmussen Reports and Issues & Insights.
