Nancy Pelosi’s daughter described her mother in an unusual way this morning, telling CNN that the Congresswoman could “cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding.”
Speaking with hosts Alisyn Camerota and John Berman about her mother’s approach to meetings, Alexandra Pelosi said, “She’ll cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding. That’s all you need to know about her.”
She continued, “No one ever won betting against Nancy Pelosi. She’s persevered. You gotta give her credit. No matter what you think about her, you have to give her credit because, think about it, think about all of those presidents she’s endured. The Bush, the Bush, the Clinton—she’s been through it all.”

Alexandra Pelosi’s comments came before her mother met with Trump and other Congressional leaders today where they were unable to reach an agreement on funding the government after receiving a briefing on border security.
The Democrats proposed a plan that would fund government agencies through September, however the Department of Homeland Security would only receive funding for one month while negotiations on the border wall continue.
“I think they wanted to go on without going through the briefing, they wanted to go on with their bill that they were bringing up tomorrow. The president has been very clear that it’s not the bill he would support and Leader McConnell said he’s not bringing anything up that’s not going to become law,” said House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the meeting was unproductive.
“I don’t think any particular progress was made today,” he said. “It was a civil discussion and we are hopeful that somehow in the coming days or weeks we will be able to reach an agreement.”
Earlier today during a cabinet meeting, President Trump said the partial government shutdown will “last as long as it takes.”
He stressed the importance of building a wall, telling his cabinet, “A wall is a wall. The others just, we could have all the drones flying over the people last night, the only thing that stops them is a wall. If we had drones, wonderful, we’ll get nice pictures…”
