She's Out! Another Socialist Loses Their Primary

The cringe-inducingly named “Squad” has lost yet another socialist member to a primary election.

The “Squad” refers to the furthest-left group in Congress that doesn’t have Caucus status. Founding members of the group included Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib, while Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Greg Casar, Summer Lee, and Delia Ramirez joined later.

Five of the nine are also members of the Democratic Socialists of America in addition to their membership in the Democrat Party (with Omar, Pressley, and Ramirez, and Lee being the nonmembers). Lee was once part of the DSA but left the party before taking office.

First Bowman was ousted in humiliating fashion in a primary two months ago, and last night Rep. Bush followed his lead. As was the case for both of them, their increasingly insane rhetoric on Israel following the October 7th terrorist attacks was the catalyst for their political demise.

According to Fox:

Voters in Missouri's bright blue 1st Congressional District served a sharp rebuke of the left’s progressive wing on Tuesday, denying Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., a third term.

The "Squad" Democrat lost her primary to St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell, a more moderate candidate who had the backing of pro-Israel groups that spent millions to unseat Bush over her criticism of the Jewish nation.

Challenger Bell took in 51.2% of the vote to Bush’s 45.6%.

Among Bush’s greatest hits in Congress include trying to confront a witness at a hearing with a quote that he never actually uttered, not understanding how taxes work, claiming that abortion pills help transgender people, claiming to have faith healing abilities, shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign funds on private security while calling for the defunding of police,  and facing a DOJ probe over that spending.

As its peak, the Democratic Socialists of America had six members in Congress. That fell to five when Rep. Shri Thanedar (a non-squad member) renounced his party membership in 2023 over disagreements about Israel, and will fall to three with the departure of Bush and Bowman.
