The Biden administration is making it clear that as Israel goes to war, they don’t have any plans on dialing back aid to Ukraine even one iota.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was asked by a reporter at Sky News about the U.S.’s ability to afford military aid to foreign countries in light of us being in our weakest fiscal position since WWII; “Can America or can the West afford another war at this time,” the reporter asked.

“I think the answer is absolutely. America can certainly afford to stand with Israel and support Israel’s military needs, and we also can and must support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia. Look, the American economy is doing extremely well. Inflation has been high, and it has been a concern to households. It has come down considerably, at the same time, we have about the strongest labor market we have seen in 50 years,” Yellen replied.

The U.S. has allocated over
$113 billion in emergency funding to support Ukraine since the latest phase of their war with Russia began last year - a sum equal to 33 times the average annual aid the U.S. gives to Israel every year.

Despite claims from Biden himself that he’s reduced the national debt and deficit, the national debt crossed $33 trillion for the first time ever in mid-September - and it already passed $33.5 trillion a month later. Meanwhile the annual deficit doubled to about $2 trillion in fiscal year 2023.
