Donald Trump spoke out against the politically targeted witch hunt against him before his $250 million civil trial kicked off in Manhattan today.
"We have a rogue judge. We have a racist attorney general who's a horror show, who ran on the basis that she was gonna ‘get Trump’ before she even knew anything about me - she used this to run for governor she failed in her attempt to run for governor…she came back and she said, 'well, now I'll go back to get Trump again and this is what we have." Trump said.
"It's a scam. It's a sham. Just so you know, my financial statements are phenomenal. No bank was hurt--they don't even know why they have to be involved."

James’ case alleges that Trump deceived banks, insurers, and others by overvaluing his assets and net worth. The judge presiding over this non-jury civil trial to determine damages is New York City Judge Arthur Engoron.
Engoron already demonstrated his incredible incompetence last week when he ruled that Trump had overvalued Mar-a-Lago, instead assessing its value at $18 million - all while neighboring empty plots of land fetch valuations in the hundreds of millions. Trump purchased Mar-a-Lago in 1985 when it had a listing price of $20 million - and that $20 million is in 1986 dollars. Even if the price of Mar-a-Lago only increased with inflation, it would be worth roughly $58 million today. In other words, Judge Engoron’s ruling implies that Mar-a-Lago lost 65% of its value in inflation adjusted terms over the same time period where real estate prices increased nearly fivefold.
