As the Washington Examiner's Jerry Dunleavy reported:
Agents investigating President Joe Biden's son "opened an assessment which was used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease," according to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Grassley revealed the claim after his office received "a significant number of protected communications from highly credible whistleblowers" about the investigation. The Republican claimed one of the communications shows "verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation."
A whistleblower also said FBI assistant special agent Timothy Thibault “ordered closed” an “avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting," according to Grassley, even though “all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants.” The senator said Thibault “ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required” and that FBI officials “subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future,” according to the disclosures.

Hunter hasn't been having a great month, as this comes just days after it was revealed that he failed to register as a foreign agent for his overseas business dealings, committing 32 potential FARA (foreign lobbying) violations in the process. FARA violations are punishable by up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine, though it would be surprising to everyone if he actually were to face consequences.
Last week we learned that Joe Biden had dozens of sit down meetings with Hunter just days after Hunter's meetings with foreign officials, contradicting Joe's past denials that he had any knowledge of his son's business dealings. And days before that, hackers released a trove of humilating videos and photos allegedly from Hunter's iCloud account.
