The latest from the Wall Street Journal shows Joe Biden getting absolutely destroyed by Donald Trump in key swing states ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
According to the WSJ:
Trump is leading Biden in six of the seven most competitive states in the 2024 election, propelled by broad voter dissatisfaction with the national economy and deep doubts about Biden’s capabilities and job performance.
The poll of the election’s main battlegrounds shows Trump holding leads of between 2 and 8 percentage points in six states—Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina—on a test ballot that includes third-party and independent candidates. Trump holds similar leads when voters are asked to choose only between him and Biden.
The one outlier is Wisconsin, where Biden leads by 3 points on the multiple-candidate ballot, and where the two candidates are tied in a head-to-head matchup.
Overall, the poll shows substantial unhappiness with Biden among voters who will have the most influence in the outcome of the election, as expanded one-party dominance in states has left just a few as politically competitive.
Earlier this week it was reported that Trump and the Republican National Committee raised $65.6 million. That came after Biden had netted $25 million from a single star studded fundraiser last month, which fueled concerns about Trump lagging Biden in fundraising. However, Trump leads massively in the number of small donors, meaning that if Trump and Biden raised an equal amount, Trump’s would reflect far more donors, and thus future voters. The same was the case for Hillary Clinton in 2016 - in the quarter ahead of that election Clinton had raised $261 million to Trump’s $61 million - and lost.
