Jean-Pierre has been called out for ignoring reporters multiple times in recent weeks.
Last week when reporter Jalil Afridi was called on, and asked if he could ask two questions, mentioning that he waited four months to ask, a visibly agitated Jean-Pierre fired back “After that statement, that leaves you with one question.”
As Afridi began to respond, Jean-Pierre dismissively added "I think you’re wasting our time, sir. Can you please ask a question?"
Yesterday she was called out for ignoring the New York Post's reporters, a publication that has been critical of Biden.
“You haven’t called on me in two seasons, Karine,” New York Post reporter Steve Nelson said to Jean-Pierre as she skipped him to call on another reporter.
“I’m not calling on you today,” Jean-Pierre said as she ignored him.
“You should be ashamed of that!” Nelson fired back.
“That shows disrespect to a free and independent media! It’s blacklisting one of the nation’s largest and most-read newspapers, Karine. That shows contempt for a free and independent press!”
“Go ahead,” Jean-Pierre said, continuing to ignore Nelson. “I’m calling on somebody I haven’t called on in a long time, as well,” she said, and Nelson finally relented.
The last time Jean-Pierre called on Nelson was in May.
Jean-Pierre had notably been called out multiple times this year by Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba - leading to the White House threatening his access.
