Sixty six Republican Congressmen signed a letter this week pointing out that Joe Biden’s approach to schools isn’t based on science.
The letter reads, in part: “We are writing to urge you to live up to your pledge to follow the science on COVID-19 and encourage state and local leaders to reopen schools across the United States.”
Despite Biden’s campaign promises to reopen schools within 100 days of taking office, Joe Biden has decided to break that promise after resistance from teacher’s unions. In fact, the Biden Administration is now saying that they would like to see 50% of schools returning to in-person learning by April.
Biden’s anti-science stance comes despite the fact that the CDC director, Rochelle Walensky has said, “There is increasing data to suggest that schools can safely reopen and that safe reopening does not suggest that teachers need to be vaccinated.” That too is referenced in the letter.

Biden administration spokesman Jen Psaki later claimed that statement from the CDC director wasn’t official CDC guidance, but clearly, this resistance to sending kids back to school is political. How is it that a grocery store clerk or Wal-Mart employee can go to work every day, but teachers can’t? There are a lot of good people hurting because these entitled teachers are refusing to do their jobs. The kids are getting a substandard education, the parents are being put in a bind because their kids aren’t going to school during the week and yet, the teachers are still getting paid. If those teachers only got say 75% of their salaries for teaching online classes, they’d be ready to get back into the classroom in a hurry. However, as long as there are no consequences for their bad behavior, why shouldn’t they keep screwing over the kids?
What it all comes down to is that Joe Biden lied to the American public about something big and there are real-world consequences for kids and parents all across the country. Good for those Republican congressmen for calling him out, but everyone should be calling him out on it.
