The Alabama state senate voted 23-4 to make hormone therapy, puberty-blockers, or gender reassignment surgery for children a felony. The bill also requires teachers to alert parents if “a minor’s perception that his or her gender is inconsistent with his or her sex.”
People that commit a felony under the bill, which is called the Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act, could face a 10-year prison sentence and a $15,000 fine. The bill is now going to the Alabama house where it is expected to pass and become law.
If this bill becomes a law, Alabama will be the first state in the union to protect kids from the people trying to convince them to become trans. The bill’s sponsor, Shay Shelnutt, said:
“Children aren’t mature enough to make these decisions on surgeries and drugs. The whole point is to protect kids.”
This is so obviously true that it’s hard to understand how anyone could disagree with it. Did you know that between 70-80% of the kids that believe they’re transgender later change their minds? How is it you can be too young to drink, too young to drive, and not even trusted with any major life decision EXCEPT whether you want to change your gender or not?
There is no good argument for allowing children to be led into life-altering changes by adults with agendas and it should be illegal in every state in the nation.
