CNNâs Anderson Cooper told the networkâs dozens of viewers that he understands if they never want to tune in again after the network hosted a town hall event with Donald Trump.
âMany of you think CNN shouldnât have given [Donald Trump] any platform to speak and I understand the anger about that,â Cooper began his opening monologue.
Cooper then went through a generic monologue weâve heard a thousand times before, circling through the liberal bingo board of talking points about Trump being a âthreat to democracy,â and of course, baseless allegations of racism. In a revealing comment, Cooper appeared shocked that Trump won over the whole audience; âThe audience that upset you? Thatâs a sampling of about half the country. They are your family members, your neighbors and they are voting, and many said theyâre voting for him.â
Despite barely having any viewers to begin with, Cooper said heâd understand if CNNâs audience never wanted to tune in ever again. "You have every right to be outraged and angry and never watch this network again. But do you think staying in your silo and only listening to people you agree with is going to make that person go away? If we all only listen to those we agree with, it may actually do the opposite. If lies are allowed to go unchecked, as imperfect as our ability to check them is on a stage in real time, those lies continue and those lies spread,â Cooper said.

Meanwhile, 99.99% of the country had already decided to never watch CNN again voluntarily long ago without Anderson Cooperâs go ahead.
