Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez didn’t attend last night’s State of the Union, but she was watching and streaming her reaction to her fans online.
When asked her reaction to Rush Limbaugh receiving the presidential medal of freedom, AOC said “First of all, the Presidential Medal of Freedom is an extraordinarily sacred award. We’re talking about putting someone on the same level as Rosa Parks in terms of their contributions to American progress.”
Has anyone told her that Joe Biden also received the award? AOC doesn’t even believe that she should be in the same party as Biden, so I’ll assume she doesn’t hold him in the same esteem as Rosa Parks.
“But… Rush Limbaugh is a virulent racist,” AOC continued, mispronouncing the word “virulent.” She then complained that it was awarded in the middle of the SOTU and argued that Rush’s reaction was fake because it was already reported that Rush would be receiving the Medal. Obviously, Rush’s surprise was that he was being awarded it at the SOTU, the first time such a thing has ever happened.
AOC then said, incoherently, the lack of ceremony for the award means that “all sorts of norms are being violated, not just for people’s humanity, but also for it just cheapens the value of it.”
She made no mention of his recent cancer diagnosis while chiding him.
Give the trainwreck a watch yourself:
Or in other words, a woman that has contributed nothing to society is mocking a man just diagnosed with cancer for receiving an award she doesn’t think he’s done enough for. No wonder she wasn’t missed at this year’s SOTU.
