Arizona Governor Ready to Send National Guard to the Border
Joe Biden and “Border Czar in Name Only” Kamala Harris won’t do anything about the border, so border states are taking matters into their own hands.
A bill (HB 2862) was recently introduced in Texas that would re-launch the paused border wall construction at the U.S.-Mexico border. Since then we learned that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is reportedly considering ending the pause on border construction amid the border crisis that they’re pretending isn’t a crisis when facing the public.
Speculation aside about potential future action, the fact remains that the White House has yet to do a single thing about the border crisis (except blame Trump). And because of that, Arizona’s governor is vowing more direct action.
Frustrated by inaction by the Biden Administration, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said he is considering calling up the National Guard.
“The border is traditionally a federal issue and a federal focus,” said Ducey. “The Biden White House has ignored the situation at the border in Arizona and across the southern U.S.”
Ducey wants the Arizona National Guard on the border to help deal with the rise in border patrol apprehensions, and he also wants the federal government to pay for it.
“So we have options as a state of course. We are working with ranchers, border sheriffs, leaders at the county level,” said Ducey. “I plan to talk with the President on what their next steps will be. But the National Guard will be part of the solution. We will have action taken.”
“Yes we are going to use every tool, authority and resource that we have to be successful on the Southern Border,” said Ducey. “We need to work in partnership with the federal government, but Arizona is going to act regardless.”
Border officials encountered 172k illegals at the border in March, a 71% increase from February. This also represents a fivefold increase from March of last year (debunking Biden’s claim that this is a seasonal increase), and the highest monthly tally in fifteen years.
Arizona Attorney General Mark Bnorvich has invited Kamala to visit and tour the border – and has yet to receive a response.
