Beto Would Take Away Tax Exempt Status for Churches if Don’t Accept Same Sex Marriage; Booker Stays Silent

CNN held a town hall last night with 2020 democratic presidential hopefuls, and discussion was devoted to LGBTQ rights and issues. Beto has already caused controversy attacking the second amendment saying “hell yes” he will take your assault weapons, and vowed to take away the NRA’s tax exempt status. He may have alienated yet another group of voters last night, and many fear he plans to aggressively impede on freedom of speech, our first amendment.

CNN host Don Lemmon asked the question of the candidates, “Do you think religious institutions like colleges, churches, charities – should they lose their tax exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage?”

“Yes” O’Rourke immediately shot back. “There can be no reward, no benefit, no tax break for anyone, or any institution, any organization in America that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single on of us…So as president we’re going to stop those who are infringing on the rights of our fellow Americans.”
