Biden Admin Holds Thousands of “Kids in Cages” for Longer Than Legal Limit
With the mere transfer of power from a Republican to a Democrat, “kids in cages” were immediately rebranded “facilities for migrant children.”
The “cages” were built during the Obama administration, just going to prove how empty the left’s sudden concern about them under Trump was. Their sudden lack of concern for them proves the same point.
According to CBS, Border Patrol now has over 4,200 unaccompanied migrant children in custody in what they call “jail-like stations unfit to house minors.” A quick Google search for “CBS kids in cages” shows that they were happy to describe “jail-like stations” as cages while Trump was in office.
Among the other details from their report included:
- Nearly 3,000 of the unaccompanied children in Border Patrol custody have been held longer than the 72 hour legal limit. That is double the number from just one week ago.
- The children are spending an average of 117 hours in the Border Patrol facilities, a full 62% longer than the legal limit.
- An average of 565 unaccompanied minors entered Border Patrol custody each day during the past week.
- Border Patrol sectors in the Rio Grande Valley, El Paso, Yuma, and Tucson, are all over capacity. The Rio Grande Valley sector alone is currently at 363% capacity.
U.S. border patrol agents detained nearly 100,000 migrants at the border in February, the highest tally for the month of February since 2006. The figures also represent an increase of 78,000 from the month prior.
Meanwhile, sources at the Border Patrol say that “got-always” migrants who manage to escape apprehension, have nearly doubled this fiscal year while apprehensions at the border have reached a 15 year high.
The situation at the border is worse than ever – and Biden couldn’t be more fortunate that the media bats for his team.
