According to the budget that came out on Friday, the Biden Administration plans to send an eye-popping $861 million dollars to Central America in 2022.
The purpose? To attempt to combat the border crisis the White House is otherwise ignoring.
As the Daily Caller reports:
The administration plans to provide $861 million in federal aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico in order to “address the root causes of irregular migration,” according to the proposed budget for 2022. Vice President Kamala Harris asked private sector companies to “make new, significant commitments” to create sustainable economic opportunities aimed at ending the migration crisis at the southern border on Thursday, according to the White House.
“Our comprehensive strategy to address the root causes of migration will involve significant commitments of U.S. government resources to support the long-term development of the region—including efforts to foster economic opportunity, strengthen governance, combat corruption, and improve security,” the White House said.
Of course, this strategy is doomed to failure from the get-go. It would be like trying to keep people from breaking into your house and stealing things by attempting to raise the standard of living everywhere around you instead of putting locks on the door. If it wasn’t such a serious situation, it would almost be funny. Democrats can’t fix the ghettos in America that they’ve been in charge of for decades, but they believe they can fix El Salvador and Mexico? If just throwing around enormous piles of government money was the way you solved problems, we’d already have flying cars by now.
The sad reality is that the Biden Administration has zero interest in stopping illegal immigration and perhaps even more regrettably, has started to treat our tax dollars like Monopoly money. In their minds, they have an infinite supply of “free” money that they can use for anything they like, so why not spend it on whatever catches their fancy? Unfortunately, it’s just these sorts of ludicrous, wasteful expenditures that will ensure that this country goes bankrupt one day.
