Since 1950, American taxpayers have given 6.3 billion dollars to the Palestinians. In return, the Palestinians have an abysmal view of Americans, elected a terrorist government in the Gaza strip, and continue to look for ways to murder our allies in Israel.
Donald Trump, to his eternal credit, stopped sending the Palestinians money in 2018. Joe Biden disagreed with Trump and restarted funding. Only weeks later, the Palestinians started firing rockets at Israel. Israel responded by targeting the terrorists that were attacking them and now, Joe Biden wants to send the Palestinians even more money to rebuild. Anonymous US officials say there are no guarantees Hamas won’t get their hands on the money.
As the Washington Examiner reports:
U.S. officials acknowledged coming American aid for Palestinians could rehabilitate Hamas after several weeks of fighting with Israeli officials as Secretary of State Antony Blinken works to seal the ceasefire between the warring sides.
“We’re going to be working in partnership with the United Nations and the Palestinian Authority to kind of channel aid there in a manner that does its best to go to the people of Gaza,” a senior State Department official told reporters Monday. “As we all know in life, there are no guarantees, but we’re going to do everything that we can to ensure that this assistance reaches the people who need it the most.”
President Joe Biden emphasized the need to “rebuild Gaza” without re-arming Hamas after the ceasefire last week.
Isn’t it funny how that works? Hamas attacks Israel. Israel responds. The U.S. gives the Palestinians money and inevitably, Hamas ends up with a big slice of it. At best, we’re making it much less costly for the Palestinians to attack Israel and at worst, we’re actually incentivizing them to do it. In return for….what exactly? Hamas is hostile, broke, and completely incompetent. So, what exactly do we get in return for giving them money?
