According to Joe Biden, the evacuation of Americans out of Afghanistan is continent on cooperation from a terrorist group that just conquered an entire country while committing war crimes, immediately leading to widespread reports of human rights abuses in the areas they gained control of.
“We are currently on a pace to finish (the evacuation mission) by August 31. The sooner we can finish, the better. Each day of operations brings added risk to our troops,” Biden said. But the completion by August 31 ultimately depends on the Taliban’s cooperation, Biden added, which isn’t exactly reassuring.
When Biden publicly floated pushing back the withdrawal deadline beyond August 31st earlier this week, the Taliban threatened violence. In response, Biden caved and kept the August 31st deadline.
Or in other words, the August 31 withdrawal deadline is now the Taliban deadline.
