Joe Biden has been inventing questionable biographical details at a record pace as of late.

On Thursday afternoon, Biden said during a speech "Democracy is at stake, folks. Our democracy is under attack. And we gotta fight for it. I taught at the University of Pennsylvania for four years. And I used to teach political theory.” Biden had previously claimed to be a “full professor” at UPenn for four years, but a review of the facts at the time revealed he “never taught a semester’s worth of courses” there.

At another event on Thursday, Biden claimed to a group of Rabbis that he was “raised in the synagogue,” something so pivotal in his life it wasn’t mentioned until yesterday.

“I, you might say, was raised in the synagogues of my state. You think I’m kidding, I’m not,” Biden said during a call ahead of Rosh HaShanah, which begins today. “I’ve always believed the message of the High Holidays is universal — that it’s never too late to repent, to change, to begin anew.”

In a similar theme, back in February, Biden falsely claimed to a black church that he attended a black church in his youth.

Last month, during his speech while finally visiting Maui following devastating wildfires, Biden attempted to relate to the residents by telling a largely fabricated story about how he once suffered a house fire that nearly cost him his Corvette. “I don't want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, about what it's like to lose a home… It was a Sunday and lightning struck at home on a little lake,” Biden said. “And to make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my 67 Corvette and my cat.”

Biden has told this story numerous times over the years - but as the Associated Press reported at the time in 2004;  the fire was “small” and “contained to the kitchen,” and that firefighters got it under control in 20 minutes, successfully preventing it from spreading.
