During his Oval Office speech last night, Joe Biden slammed the country he just unfroze $6 billion in assets for.
While calling on Congress to pass a $100 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine and Israel, Biden slammed Iran for supporting Hamas and Russia.
“We can't let terrorists like Hamas and Putin win,” Biden said. “Iran is supporting Russia in Ukraine and it's supporting Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region. 'We'll continue to hold them accountable, I might add.”
The White House has been playing defense for releasing $6 billion in frozen Iran funds ahead of the Hamas terror attack against Israel on October 7, claiming it somehow can "only be used for humanitarian purposes." Biden has faced pressure to refreeze the funds from both Republicans and fellow Democrats, but the administration has only commented that they “wouldn’t take anything off the table” in terms of refreezing those assets.
