Biden encouraged mass-licking while concluding his speech before Irish parliament at Dublin Castle.
The comment came after Biden was telling a rambling story about being a Biden, telling members of parliament “One of the things that she’d look at me say, ‘Joey, remember, remember who you are,’ like ‘you’re a Biden’ — like what the hell is a Biden? You know what I mean? I’m like, like I’m a, you know, anyway.”
Eventually, he concluded the speech “There’s nothing our nations can’t achieve if we do it together, I really mean it. So thank you all, God bless you all and let’s go lick the world! Let’s get it done!”
Naturally, we’re left wondering what exactly this expression means. Did Biden have ice cream on the mind? Did he mean to say “sniff”? The world may never know.
This gaffe from Biden is just the latest during his trip to Ireland. Earlier in the week he struggled to understand a question from a child, which needed to be explained to him by his son Hunter. The transcript of that exchange alone is worth a laugh:
