Biden's Approval With Independents Hits New All-Time Low Right Before Midterms

As if their prospects couldn't get any worse, Democrats worried about being dragged down by Joe Biden's historic unpopularity just got even more bad news.

In their final poll before midterms, NBC News found Biden's approval hit a fresh all-time low among independents. Chuck Todd reported yesterday on Meet the Press: "Biden's job approval rating sits at 44% in this final NBC News poll. By the way, all-time low with independents. His approval rating is just 28%. And let me put this in context for you. What does a job rating mean? Some people believe it’s the single most important indicator to understand where a midterm election is going." 



The average poll in the Real Clear Politics (RCP) average has Biden's overall approval about two-points lower than NBC does. RCP's data suggests that Republicans will likely take the Senate 53-47, and will retake the House with at least 227 seats (with 34 toss ups that could add to that). 

And if the polls are as "accurate" as they were the past two presidential election cycles, things are even worse for Democrats than they look.
