Brandon Tatum Schools the BBC Over Chauvin Verdict Fallout

Fight tech tyranny. Join Dan on Rumble.

Former police officer Brandon Tatum appeared on BBC World News to talk about the Chauvin verdict. He made some terrific points.

He said:

ā€œWell first of all, I think most of what I heard on the broadcast all the way here is confusing to me. I think weā€™re living in ā€˜The Twilight Zone.ā€™ This conviction, in my personal opinion, did nothing for our country. I mean, people are living a lie…This was the swiftest justice I ever seen in my life. ā€¦ He did not get a fair trial, in my personal opinion. There was a lot of obstruction that happened. They paid the family out $27 million before the jury could be selected. …This is not a landmark case. This is a political agenda. Theyā€™re pushing lies in our country. Policing in America is not inherently racist. We donā€™t live in a racist country. This was an interaction between a police officer that I thought did the wrong thing, and a black man who was on drugs high, resisting arrest and ended up being killed by that police officer. Thatā€™s as simple as it can be.ā€

Did Chauvin deserve to be convicted for his callous and irresponsible treatment of George Floyd or should he have been found innocent because Floyd had heart disease and a large amount of fentanyl in his system? That’s a matter for a jury to decide, but the political interference in the case kept Chauvin from getting a fair trial. As Tatum noted, the city paid off the family, Biden weighed in on the case publicly, Maxine Waters made what could fairly be considered threats of violence if Chauvin wasn’t convicted and there were reasonable fears that there would be violence and retaliation against the jury if Chauvin wasn’t found guilty. Derek Chauvin may very well have been guilty as sin, but even if you are guilty, you still deserve a fair trial. Derek Chauvin didn’t get one.

Tatum then went on to justifiably criticize Joe Biden.

ā€œThe president of the United States got out and made a fool of himself trying to promote racism in a simple police encounter that the officer got convicted on….President Biden is an idiot in my personal opinion, and heā€™s just talking because heā€™s a politician. I mean, if you look at Joe Biden himself, he spoke at a Ku Klux Klan memberā€™s funeral and did the eulogy of Robert Byrd. …He should step down as the president because heā€™s an exemplification of (white supremacy). These people are just running their mouth, and theyā€™re not being honest. We donā€™t have a problem with racism in our country. We have a problem with people not following the law. We also have a problem with politicians making up things so they can get re-elected, and thatā€™s exactly what has been happening. Thatā€™s why you never see anything change. Theyā€™re lying to us.ā€

Before the election, we heard about how Joe Biden was going to be a bipartisan healer. After the election, it has been all executive orders and declarations that America is a terrible, systemically racist country. Politicians never stop lying, but what Biden did may have been the biggest bait and switch in history.
