Brett Kavanaugh Round 2: Sen Hirono Asks If Amy Coney Barrett She Has Ever Committed Sexual Assault
After the Democrats engaged in what may have been the most disgraceful behavior in the history of the Senate during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, most of us assumed that at least they wouldn’t be able to suggest that Amy Coney Barrett sexual assaulted someone since she was a woman. Well, even that low bar turned out to be too high for the Democrats to get over. Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono from Hawaii asked Amy Coney Barrett if she had ever committed sexual assault.
Mazie Hirono asked Barrett, “Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” Of course, Barrett said, “No, Senator Hirono.”
Apparently, this ridiculous practice is a long time thing for Senator Hirono.
Starting today, I’m asking nominees to our courts, under oath, whether or not they have a history of sexual assault or harassment. Like in other industries, our judges are in positions of power & #TimesUp. pic.twitter.com/Jk0NcTBi3h

Of course, this question makes absolutely no sense. For one thing, these judges have to go through FBI background checks. Someone at Amy Coney Barrett’s level has been through multiple checks. If there’s a legitimate charge against them, it will be revealed. Of course, the sexual assault claims against Brett Kavanaugh never came up because they weren’t real, and in any case, who would admit it? If you somehow sneaked through multiple FBI background checks without getting caught, why would someone break down and admit it because Mazie Hirono asked them? Also, the sort of questions like this that she could ask are endless.
“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever kicked a puppy?”
“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever laughed at a racist joke?”
“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever used any illegal drugs without being caught?”
“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever shaken a baby?”
Is Mazie Hirono living in the real world or does she think she’s in an episode of Perry Mason, where the hapless criminal breaks down on the stand and admits everything after being grilled?
