California Democrat State Assemblyman Phil Ting proved that the left has learned absolutely nothing from their failed experiments in defunding the police and so-called “progressive prosecutors.”

While speaking at the San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, Ting presented the concept of imprisoning people who commit crimes as some sort of archaic concept, while presenting criminals as victims.

“We had this idea, that as a state, we could be safer if we put our inmates, our offenders, in the most remote parts of the state. That if we could just somehow separate them from their communities and separate them from us, separate them from their loved ones, from their family members, that somehow we would be safer” Ting said, dismissing a practice that has made people safer for thousands of years.

“San Quentin has proven, that actually the exact opposite is true; that we need to be surrounded by a community,” Ting added, providing no evidence.

Watch below:

Ting had previously endorsed the campaign of George Soros-backed San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who was later recalled by voters after a surge in crime under his watch carried out by “community members.”
