California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom Now Officially Faces a Recall

Fight tech tyranny. Join Dan on Rumble.

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom is now officially facing a recall. As the Daily Wire is reporting, per California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, only 43 signatures calling for a recall were disqualified while  1,719,900 signatures were valid. This will only be the 2nd recall election in California history. The first was in 2003 and it led to Democrat Gray Davis being replaced with Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Of course, California has been badly managed for a long time, but Newsom seems to be particularly incompetent, even for a Governor of that state. Although the rolling power outages and his decision to phase out gas-powered cars by 2035 seem to have angered the public, the draconian coronavirus restrictions seem to have particularly driven support for the recall election.

When the recall takes place, voters will be faced with a two-part question. They will first have to choose whether they want to replace Newsom and if so, they get to select whon they would choose. In the 2003 election, there were 154 candidates including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cruz Bustamante, Tom McClintock, Arianna Huffington, Peter Ueberroth, Larry Flynt, Gary Coleman, and Mary Carey. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this recall election were just as jam-packed with publicity seekers, politicians, and celebrities.

Of course, Newsom is particularly incompetent and does deserve to be recalled, but the state’s problems go far beyond him. California is a beautiful state with terrific ports, fantastic agriculture, lots of wealth, and some of the most famous cities on earth, but it’s also locked in the grip of some of the craziest people in the Democratic Party, which is why businesses are fleeing the state and why California lost population for the first time in 2020. It’s sad to see what could be such a great state destroying itself, but that’s what liberalism does to everything it touches.
