In an age of division, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has at least managed to unite his city on something.
HotAir’s Ed Morrissey reported on the most recent polling on the Mayor of city synonymous with the type of gun violence the left loves to ignore, and it’s apocalyptic for Johnson.
Just under 80% of respondents in a new poll said they disapprove of the job that Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is doing. The overwhelming disapproval comes from a survey of nearly 700 likely Chicago voters in a poll conducted between Feb. 20 and 21 by M3 Strategies.
So the other 20% approve, right? Right? Er, not exactly. According to the poll results, Johnson managed to achieve a whopping 6.6% favorable response, perhaps one of the lowest ever achieved by a significant politician holding public office at the time. That means that less than a third of the respondents who don't explicitly view Johnson unfavorably view him favorably.
His predecessor Lori Lightfoot was the first Chicago mayor in 40 years to lose reelection - and if anything, he’s worse than she is. During her last year in office, differing polls put her approval and disapproval ratings at a disastrous 27%-66%, 32%-61%, and 25-73%, respectively - yet this still made her look beloved by comparison.
And despite all this, the probability that a Democrat will win the next Chicago mayoral election is roughly 100%.
