After nearly a decade of holding their ground against left-wing hysteria, Chick-Fil-A finally caved to pressure yesterday and ceased donations to three Christian charities that had been slandered as “homophobic.” The charities included the Salvation Army (which has an entire section of their website detailing services they offer to LGBT individuals), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Paul Anderson Youth Home.
The bar for homophobia has apparently been lowered to “charitable organization with a Christian mission statement.” CFA at least hasn’t ceased donations to charity entirely, and plans on donating $9 million to charity in 2020, plus $25,000 per new store opened.
CFA allowed fake news to win out in this case, and that hasn’t even appeased the perpetrators. In fact, in their eyes, CFA caving has only legitimized their narrative.
Influential LGBT rights organization GLAAD posted a statement essentially condemning CFA. “If Chick-Fil-A is serious about their pledge to stop holding hands with divisive anti-LGBTQ activists, then further transparency is needed regarding their deep ties to organizations like Focus on the Family, which exist purely to harm LGBTQ people and families” wrote the organization in a statement.
“Chick-fil-A investors, employees and customers can greet today’s announcement with cautious optimism, but should remember that similar press statements were previously proven to be empty,” they continued.

Other aggrieved leftists argued that Chick-Fil-A isn’t redeeming themselves unless they redirect the funds previously sent to the three Christian charities to explicitly LGBT charities.
If CFA were to oblige with such a demand it would certainly be interesting to see how the goal posts would immediately be shifted even further to continue guilt tripping them.
Okay, thats great, whatever, #ChickFilA no longer donating to homophobia and transphobia is fine but if they /really/ about it, they can donate that same money to LGBTQ+ communities and orgs

CFA has understandably been blasted by countless commentators on the Right as well, but I find it hard not to view them as the victim here – unable to counter a media narrative which they foolishly thought they could make disappear if they obliged.
On the bright side, it is notable that the only liberal victory of the past couple of years has been successfully bullying a chicken restaurant into submission, and even that took them nearly a decade of effort. Let’s keep their “victories” small.
