CNN’s Leana Wen is continuing to follow the political science wherever it leads her ahead of the midterms.
After apparently being the first person on CNN to admit that cloth masks are “facial decoration,” Wen appeared to summarize the most recent findings from the University of Duh on the damages school closures caused, stating that they’re “sobering but not surprising.”
She then pointed out that school is good for kids, and thus removing them from schools is bad. Only for CNN’s audience would a study be needed to prove this.
Watch below:
In the COVID-era not only have the “experts” flip flopped, flip-flopped on flip-flopping, they’ve then flip-flopped some more on top of that.
And indeed, Wen was among those supporting harmful school closures for the past two years. If she’s not “surprised” by the “sobering” study she’s reporting on, did she even believe what she spent the past two years arguing for?
Some have argued that because schools don't contribute significantly to community spread, they should stay open.
I disagree. There is explosive #covid19 spread. Most schools should be closed through the winter.

Wen also previously argued that the unvaccinated shouldn’t be able to leave their homes, though hopefully she’ll do a 180 on that by next week.
As is the case with all COVID restrictions, it isn’t the damage to children or small businesses that caused Democrats to change their tune, it’s their fear of losing control of Congress.
