Oppressed no more?
Joining the chorus of liberals who collectively decided that Independence Day is racist was Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who decided to start protesting the national anthem after being benched.
“We reject your celebration of white supremacy and look forward to liberation for all,” tweeted Kaepernick about the Fourth of July, because, he said, “black people have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized and terrorized by America for centuries and are expected to join your commemoration of independence, while you enslaved our ancestors.” It was a stark contrast from his July 4th tweet in 2011 when he, like a normal human being, wished everyone a blessed day. (Presumably racism was invented sometime between late 2011 and 2016 in Kaepernick’s mind).
Now, in a miraculous turn of events that none of us could’ve ever expected despite Kaepernick’s $40+ million in career earnings, lucrative partnership with Nike, and constant fawning from the media and every celebrity out there, it turns out that yet another American corporation is willing to partner with him.
And it comes just days after Kaepernick once again reminded us about his oppressed status.

Colin Kaepernick will be featured in an exclusive docuseries produced by ESPN Films as part of a first-look deal with The Walt Disney Co.
The deal between Kaepernick’s production arm, Ra Vision Media, and Disney was announced Monday. The partnership will focus on telling scripted and unscripted stories that explore race, social injustice and the quest for equity. It also will provide a platform to showcase the work of minority directors and producers.
“I am excited to announce this historic partnership with Disney across all of its platforms to elevate Black and Brown directors, creators, storytellers, and producers, and to inspire the youth with compelling and authentic perspectives,” Kaepernick said in a statement. “I look forward to sharing the docuseries on my life story, in addition to many other culturally impactful projects we are developing.”
Perhaps the entire time Kaepernick was merely oppressed by his football playing ability.
